Study Abroad

With Ohio University, I went on a summer study abroad to Tokyo Japan where I explored animation and Japanese culture. I recognized the diversity of cultural expression through visiting sites important in history, traditional art, and popular culture. Through this lens, I developed my own project. I was inspired by "pockets of peace", which are moments that allow you to reflect on the world around you. With this project, I also developed a small tanuki character, which is a Japanese raccoon dog that is known for being mischievous.
